What gorgeous pictures. I can’t wait to hear more about your trip. I also hope you used this old gem.
While walking up a steep mountain, (especially when the going is very tough ) declare loudly “it’s just a walk in a park!” Wait a couple of seconds then add “A National Park.”
    (Really hope that joke translates.)

Oh what a neat vacation. My husband and I have spent many of our vacations visiting at least one National Park, or a Federal Reserve (a federal park for wildlife). I wait with anticipation for your list of Parks. And to see more photos!! Have a great day!

  13. Great pictures! Would sure come back to read the posts on parks visited! 🙂

  14. Oh you will love it because they are so beautiful. Take care.

  15. So beautiful! Thanks for bringing the parks to me when I can’t get to them at this moment. They truly are treasures.

  16. Thank you so very much. You are so lucky to have experience visiting them. The girls can’t wait to share our experiences and the science behind them.

  17. National Parks are truly National Treasures. Thank you for stopping by.

  18. Trying to find your follow button.

  19. Great post! I think, one day, it would be great to just drive the country roads and take in all the National parks!!! The Appalachian National Scenic Trail runs through Fahnestock State Park, just 30 minutes from here 🙂 I’ve visited quite a few National parks in the Northeast growing up. I still have a great number to see out west. Though Muir Woods was one place I saw back in the 80s on a trip to California!

  20. How awesome! Have you hiked the Appalachian trails yet. We did about 3 hours of it & it was wonderful.

  21. Seriously incredible photos! I’ve got to go there some day!

  22. you would not be disappointed! Thanks for stopping by.

  23. When I was a young girl, my parents brought us on vacation up to Fahnestock State Park, and we’d hike parts of the trail during the 3 weeks we camped out there. I did have a friend who actually went from New England down to somewhere in the mid Atlantic, on the trail. He’d planned to actually walk across the country, starting on the AT, and picking up other trails. He didn’t finish, but it definitely was a memorable trek, no matter how far.

What part of the trail did you hike? 🙂

  24. We hiked in NJ in the Water Gap area. It was so beautiful and the day was scorching hot really testing us. You have to be comfortable with hiking to hike the area and have plenty of water. The girls consider it one of the most memorable hikes. Your friend must really have some wonderful memories.

  25. I always know it is going to be a great year when I get to purchase a pass for the National Parks! Some of my favorite places and best memories are from trips to these wonderful places!

  26. It is a good year!! Do you have a passport for the stamps? The girls loved the stamping at each park.

  27. I don’t! I would love that, though.

  28. They seem to be a fun thing to do and you keep a log in such a small book. Well take care and may Choppy enjoy the new place.

  29. Fabulous pictures! I’m looking forward to this series. I hope all of you had a fantastic vacation! Hugs. 🙂

  30. Same to you!! It was wonderful and excited to share. The talks by the Park Rangers were amazing!

  31. The Forest Service has some great people. I call it a “positive” Federal agency. They seem like a great place to work too (I mean office jobs, but the field as well). I’ve applied a few times, but I want to relocate, so it’s hard to get prospective employers to take that “risk.” So glad to know you enjoyed their talks. 🙂

  32. Like they say, “They take their checks in sunsets” It is a dream job and worth your persistently pursuing it. You can find one where you relocate. There are even urban sites!

  35. Wow, this looks absolutely incredible! Looking forward to seeing more photos! 😀

  36. Thank you! It was a vacation of a lifetime full of wonder and exploration!
